New Section – Projects
I finished a new section today called Projects. This section is a set of turotials on how to do three projects. You can see the section here.
The projects are:
Although the domain and title for this website says "Colorado", the gardening information and wildflowers are applicable to almost any high altitude area in the Rocky Mountains. I am lucky to live in Colorado and this is the high country I know.
What is "High Altitude"? I define it as at least 7000 feet above sea level. If you live at a high altitude, you already know that gardening information and the wildflowers for people living in a place such as Denver or a northern state like Montana is not applicable to us even though Denver is considered to be in the Rocky Mountains and Montana is certainly cold in the winter.
Up here, we have brighter sun, less rain, cooler nights, and a shorter growing season than lower areas. Enjoy my web site and please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for me.

I completely rewrote the Gardening Topics section. It is now called “High Altitude Gardening TIps”. You can see this new section here.
I kept the original topics and added the following new topcs:
I also added a way for you, my visitor, to send me your tips or to make a comment on one of my tips. You can see that here.
I finished the migration of my High Altitude Gardening web pages to this host. The links to the right now go the individual sections of the gardening information.
I also added a stub webpage for the Wildflowers portion of this website.
Now, I’m going to start adding 5 years of images and ideas into the existing gardening code. Stay tuned.
I am just starting this web site. You can see my original website “High Altitude Gardening in the Colorado Rocky Mountains” by clicking here.
I plan to migrate my original web site code to this domain and then expand my gardening tips/experiences to include topics such as constructing steps and more rock work. I also have in my head the idea for a Colorado mountain gardener home page, triggered by zip code, that will have daily things of interest to gardeners such as the weather forecast, fire forecast, prescribed fire locations, humidity index, sun strength index, etc.
I also plan add a whole new section on mountain wildflowers and a very future section on hiking up here. This summer, I took about 500 images of wildflowers growing on our property with the wildflowers in various stages of development. I am very fortunate to live on an exceptional property for wildflowers.
Please come back in a few weeks and see what’s new. I will be updating this blog as I add new features.
Have ideas for me? Please leave a comment.
